The Future of Data: Veeam and Securiti AI Join Forces

Veeam Software plans to acquire Securiti AI for $1.725 billion to integrate data resilience with security management, privacy, and AI trust. This merger enhances Veeam’s capabilities in hybrid and multi-cloud settings, addressing the critical need for accurate and compliant data in AI initiatives, as high failure rates often stem from data integrity issues.

Veeam Software said it will acquire Securiti AI for $1.725 billion, aiming to unify data resilience with data security posture management (DSPM), privacy, and AI trust capabilities. The deal gives Veeam a stronger position across hybrid and multi-cloud environments by combining its backup and recovery tools with Securiti AI’s governance and compliance platform.

As enterprises struggle to secure sprawling data estates, the merger points to how data protection and AI risk management are converging. Companies are under pressure to ensure that the data powering AI systems is accurate, governed, and compliant. Studies show that up to 90% of AI projects fail because of data integrity, lineage, or permission issues, according to MIT Sloan Management Review.

“Data must now be both resilient and trusted,” said Anand Eswaran, Veeam CEO. “Combining our strengths will help customers identify, secure, and recover their data while safely enabling AI.”

The next AI battleground is not model performance but data trust. By merging recovery and DSPM, Veeam is betting enterprises will pay a premium for platforms that unify security, compliance, and AI readiness.
