Hasbro Takes Systems Offline After Cyber Incident

Hasbro investigates cybersecurity incident; operations continue with delays.

Hasbro said it is investigating a cybersecurity incident after finding unauthorized access to its network on March 28. As a result the toy maker has already taken some systems offline as part of its response. In an April 1 SEC filing, the company said it activated incident response protocols, brought in third-party cybersecurity professionals and started containment measures after the discovery.

The company said it is still taking orders, shipping products and running other core operations under business continuity plans, but warned that those interim measures could remain in place for several weeks and may cause delays. Hasbro did not say whether data was stolen or identify the type of intrusion, only that the investigation remains ongoing and the full scope of the impact is still being determined.
