Censys Lands $70M to Expand Internet Intelligence Platform

Censys raised $70 million to enhance internet security tools.

Attack surface management firm Censys said it raised $70 million as investors doubled down on security tools built to track what is exposed on the public internet. The Ann Arbor, Michigan, company said in a Tuesday release the financing includes a $40 million Series D led by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital and $30 million in debt financing. Censys said it will use the money to expand its recently launched internet intelligence platform and build more AI-driven capabilities for security operations.

The pitch is straightforward. Censys wants to be the data layer behind exposure management, threat hunting and proactive incident response. The company says its platform helps security teams uncover internet-facing assets, monitor supply-chain exposure and track adversary infrastructure in real time. In its funding announcement, Censys said its data is used by more than 300,000 security practitioners and by organizations representing more than half of the Fortune 500.

Censys said shrinking remediation windows and rising demand from enterprises, governments and critical infrastructure operators helped drive the timing of the raise.
